  • Canoe Training - Website of Venturing Crew #479, Rick Ales' crew, that teaches various Canoe safety courses (including FOC, Canoeing merit badge, and Basic River).
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science - This will take you to the latest schedule for the HMNS all-inclusive Merit Badges classes
  • Merit Badges Online - Unofficial, but very handy requirements pages for every merit badge and rank advancement in Scouting, with links for resources and information with every badge.
  • Lone Star Dutch Oven Society - Texas organization of Dutch-oven enthusiasts. Website has recipes and tips on cooking and care of our Dutch oven. The Houston area chapter is called the Saltgrass Chapter and their page has a calendar of upcoming DOGs (Dutch Oven Gatherings).
  • Philmont Info Site - This site, operated by Troop 764, from Georgia, claims to have "everything you need to know about Philmont" and they probably do!
  • Scouter Interactive - Huge selection of Scouting links from campfire and fundraising ideas to service projects, clipart and advancement
  • Seldon's High Adventure Links - This guy has put together a fantastic page of High Adventure camping links, including Philmont (official AND unofficial), the Northern Tier canoe bases and many other Scout camp websites, plus links to journals and photos from people who've been there
